Community Upcycling Workshops
ReFAB Studio x Fashion-Enter Ltd / FashionCapital
ReFAB Studio has joined forces with Fashion-Enter Ltd and FashionCapital to launch an exciting new series of collaborative upcycling workshops, empowering local communities through circular design, practical skill-building and sustainable creativity with generous support from The Clothworkers' Company.
Delivered across 12 hands-on sessions in accessible London training studios, this programme equips community tailors and aspiring makers with valuable green skills. Participants will transform high-quality salvaged interior textiles into practical lifestyle products such as cushion covers, accessories and homeware diverting materials from landfill while building technical ability, confidence and wellbeing through creative making.
This initiative directly addresses two urgent challenges: textile waste and access to skills. By removing financial and equipment barriers (all materials and tools are provided), the workshops ensure inclusive participation and create tangible pathways into employment, further education and self-employment.
As circular economy skills become increasingly important across industry and government, partnerships like this demonstrate how environmental, social and economic impact can be delivered at a community level with strong potential to scale across London and beyond.
We’re proud to collaborate with the teams at Fashion-Enter Ltd and FashionCapital and grateful to everyone involved in making this initiative possible.
Together, we’re turning textile waste into skills, opportunity and wellbeing.
